Q1. How can someone purchase a SickKids Lottery ticket(s)?

There are five ways to order a ticket:

  • Order online today! Click here to order now!
  • Call the toll-free telephone number 1-877-965-4372 or 647-426-4645 and use a credit card.
  • Complete the ticket order form included in the brochure and mail it in the self-addressed, postage paid return mailer along with a cheque, money order or a credit card number (Visa, MasterCard or American Express).
  • Fax the completed ticket order form with credit card number (Visa, MasterCard or American Express) to 416-601-6533.
  • Visit the Lottery desk located in the Slaight Family Atrium of the hospital (excluding weekends and holidays)

Q2. How much does a SickKids Lottery ticket cost?

The SickKids Lottery offers the following ticket bundles:

  • 1 ticket for $100
  • 2 tickets for $150
  • 3 tickets for $195
  • 4 tickets for $250
  • 10 tickets for $500
  • 20 tickets for $900

Q3. How much does a 50/50 Draw ticket cost?

The SickKids Lottery offers the following 50/50 Draw ticket bundles:

3 for $10
15 for $25; and
50 for $50 – that’s only $1 a ticket!

The 50/50 Draw tickets can only be ordered in conjunction with SickKids Lottery tickets. Once you have purchased a SickKids Lottery ticket you can purchase 50/50. If your SickKids Lottery ticket becomes invalid, all 50/50 tickets must be cancelled as well.  50/50 Draw tickets may be purchased at the same time or separately up until the final ticket sales deadline of  March 10, 2017.

Q4. How old do you have to be to order a SickKids Lottery ticket?

You must be at least 18 years old at the time of ordering. Tickets cannot be purchased in the name of a minor.

Q5. Can I order a ticket if I do not live in Ontario?

The lottery is intended for Ontario residents. Tickets cannot be mailed to addresses outside of Ontario; purchasers must be IN the province of Ontario to order tickets.

Q6. How long does it take to receive my ticket(s)?

Upon receipt and/or authorization of payment, you should receive your ticket(s) within approximately 2-4 weeks. If you have not received your ticket(s) by then, please contact Customer Service 877-216-2598, or in the Greater Toronto Area 416-977-9151  for a replacement ticket(s).

Q7. Will a charitable tax receipt be issued for my ticket(s)?

No. According to Canada Revenue Agency regulations, charity lottery ticket purchases are considered entertainment, not a direct donation. Therefore we are unable to issue a tax receipt for ticket purchases.

Q8. Can SickKids Lottery tickets be ordered over the Internet?

The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario has revised their regulations, which govern charitable lotteries, to allow for online ticket orders. Online ticket orders are processed through Deloitte, with exceptional security features and are managed similar to orders made in person (at The Hospital for Sick Children), via mail, phone, fax, and online. All orders placed must be in the province of Ontario and be to persons 18 years of age or older. Winners’ names will also be searchable on the SickKids Lottery website on April 10, 2017.

Q9. I am trying to order my ticket online. Why isn’t it going through?

You must be in the province of Ontario to order a ticket. Some internet providers, although servicing an Ontario residence, are not registered in Ontario. As such, this may result in an error in processing your order. If you are in Ontario and are unable to use our online ordering, please call 1-888-501-KIDS (5437) or in the GTA 416-385-6000 and we would be pleased to process your order.

Prizing / Deadlines

Q10. What is the Grand Prize in the SickKids Lottery?

There is one Grand Prize winner of $1 Million CASH!

Q11. How many prizes will be awarded in the SickKids Lottery?

The total number of prizes to be awarded is 55,913.

Q12. What is the total value of all prizing in the SickKids Lottery?

The total value of all prizes is $4,492,751.06 (MSRP), inclusive of all applicable taxes and freight.

Q13. If I win a prize in the SickKids Lottery, can I accept the cash value instead?

Only when a cash alternative is offered, may you choose either the prize or the cash alternative as listed. If there is no cash option, prizes must be accepted as awarded. See rules and regulations for more details.

Q14. If I win the VIP, Super Early Bonus, Early Bonus or Early Bird Prize, do I still qualify for the other prize draws?

Yes. Every winning ticket goes back into the draw so you can win more than once.

Q15. How many tickets will be sold?

129,900 tickets will be available for sale until they are sold out or the final deadline of March 10, 2017 – whichever comes first.

There is no limit to the number of 50/50 Draw tickets available, however, you must have purchased at least one SickKids Lottery ticket (in the current campaign) prior to being able to purchase 50/50 draw tickets.

Q16. What if I lose my ticket?

You do not need your ticket to claim your prize. Your name, address and phone number are recorded in the database along with your ticket number, which is proof enough. Purchasers do not need their ticket(s) in hand in order to be included in the respective draw(s). If you would like a replacement ticket, please call 877-216-2598 or  416-977-9151 in the Greater Toronto Area.

Q17. Who cannot purchase a ticket?

The following persons are prohibited from purchasing SickKids Lottery tickets or obtaining benefit from the prize offering: SickKids Foundation staff, Board of Directors, and Lottery Advisory Committee; The Hospital for Sick Children Executive Team and Board of Trustees; partners and employees of Deloitte LLP and its affiliates, employees of registered gaming suppliers; and, members of the same household of each of the above.

Winners

Q20. How will the winners be notified?

Major winners of the VIP Draws, Super Early Bonus Draw (vehicle or cash option), Early Bonus Draw (vehicle or cash option), Early Bird Draw (vehicle or cash option), the Grand Prize Draw, and 50/50 Draw will be notified by phone and mail. All other prize winners will be sent an official notification letter. A searchable list of winners will also be published on the SickKids Lottery website on April 10, 2017. On the same day an advertisement will appear in the Toronto Sun, highlighting the major prize winners and reminding ticket holders where they can go to learn whether or not they have won a prize.

Q21. What happens if the lottery sells out early?

In the event that all tickets are sold by February 3, 2017, then all Early Bonus, Early Bird, Grand Prize, Final and 50/50 Draws will commence on February 15, 2017 until completion on or before February 28, 2017.  All draws will take place under the supervision of Deloitte LLP at their offices at 400 Applewood Crescent, Suite 500, Vaughan, Ontario L4K 0C3 commencing at 8:00 a.m. and the publication of the winners will be on March 20, 2017.

Q22. Will my name be publicized if I am a winner?

Yes, in accordance with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, the winners must be collected in a list for reporting purposes (including ticket number, name and city). Major winners will be posted in the Toronto Sun and a full winners list is searchable on the SickKids Lottery website. SickKids Lottery reserves the right to publish the name, address and photograph of any winner. Winner information may be released to the news media and may be used in advertising for the Hospital for Sick Children, SickKids Lottery or SickKids Foundation.

Q23. How can I get a complete winners’ list?

  • By calling 1-888-501-KIDS (5437), or in the Greater Toronto Area 416-385-6000 to check a lottery number.

  •  By requesting a complete list from SickKids Foundation.

Q24. How do I claim my prize?

You will receive a letter from SickKids Lottery providing you with the exact details on how to claim your prize. All prizes will be shipped free of charge to the prize winners address. If you have not received a letter please call Customer Service at 877-216-2598, or in the Greater Toronto Area 416-977-9151 .  Major prize winners will also be contacted by phone and arrangements on claiming their prize will be made.

Q31. How many calendars will I receive if I order a 5, 15 or 25 tickets?

For every Calendar order placed, one Calendar ticket will be issued.  Each calendar ticket will list 5, 15 or 25 Calendar Lottery ticket numbers as ordered.

Q32. Is the SickKids Cash & Trip Calendar a 12-month calendar?

No. Your official ticket features a one month Calendar for April 2017, showing what you could win each day that month.

Q33. Can I give the SickKids Cash & Trip Calendar as a gift?

Yes, the Cash & Trip Calendar tickets can be gifted.  To order as a gift, simply advise us at the time of the order, who you would like to give the tickets to and provide the address of the giftee.

There are 205,000 Cash & Trip Calendar Lottery ticket numbers available for sale until they are sold out or the final deadline of March 10, 2017 – whichever comes first.

Q41. What are the prizes in the SickKids Cash & Trip Calendar Lottery?

During the month of April, 2017, there are four (4) prizes consisting of (1) weekly winner of four (4) Transat Travel Vouchers valued at $2,500 each (total prize value per weekly winner is $10,000).   There are also four (4) cash prizes of $10,000 with one winner weekly, every Friday throughout the month of April, 2017. There are also thirty (30) cash prizes of $5,000 with one winner daily throughout the month of April, 2017.  There are also three thousand (3000) prizes of a prepaid cash gift card valued at $50 with 100 winners daily throughout the month of April, 2017.

Q42. When are the draws?

Draws will occur based on the April 2017 calendar.  On days where more than one draw takes place, the prizes will be drawn from highest to lowest in value.  Daily prize draws will take place each day April 1 through April 30, 2017.  Draws scheduled for a weekend or on a holiday will be made the preceding Friday.  Weekly prize draws will take place on Friday, April 7, April 14, April 21, and April 28, 2017.  See rules and regulations for more details.

Q43. What is the total value of all prizing in the SickKids Lottery?

The total value of all prizes is $380,000.00 (MSRP), inclusive of all applicable taxes and freight.

Yes, you can place your SickKids Cash & Trip Calendar ticket order at any time prior to the deadline of midnight, March 10, 2017.

Q51. How are the draws conducted?

Ticket issuance and draw control services are provided by Deloitte LLP.  All draws will take place at 9:00 a.m. at the offices of Deloitte LLP, 400 Applewood Crescent, Suite 500, Vaughan, Ontario, L4K 0C3.  Draws will occur based on the April 2017 Calendar.  After each draw, the winner is recorded and the ticket number is returned to the drum and is eligible for all subsequent draws.  On days where more than one draw takes place, the prizes will be drawn from highest to lowest in value.  For questions about the draw process, please call 1-877-216-2598.

Q52. How will the winners be notified?

Prizes will be awarded to the individual named on the official Cash & Trip Calendar ticket.  All winners will be notified in writing as to what they have won and how to claim their prizes.  Winning results will be posted on our website at SickKidsLottery.ca every day from April 1, 2017 to April 30, 2017.  A printed list of winners will be available upon request after May 5, 2017.  Call 1-877-216-2598 or in the Greater Toronto Area 416-977-9151.

Q53. How long do I have to claim my prize?

We ask that all winners claim their prizes within three (3) months if possible.  Prizes must be claimed within twelve (12) months of the final draw date.

Q54. Can I cancel my SickKids Cash & Trip Calendar Lottery tickets and get a refund?

SickKids Cash & Trip Calendar Lottery ticket orders may be cancelled prior to the commencement of the draws and will be refunded for the amount that was paid for the tickets.  Once draws have begun, no refunds are permitted.
